Town Clerk,

M E L B O U R N E.

Dear Sir,

The writer has just returned to Melbourne and finds that on Monday last the rain came in through the roof of our up-stairs room and seriously damaged a large quantity of stock. Our assistants immediately wrote to your Market Inspector but although a week has elapsed he has not called even to enquire into the trouble. We beg to enclose herewith claim for damage done to the stock which damage is open for inspection should any of your officials call and we wish that you will take steps to prevent a recurrence of such a trouble. We might mention that we wrote several letters to your Inspector with reference to a transfer of our business in the Market to a Mr. Brown although the matter was subsequently fixed up no reply came to hand of our letters.

Commending same to your kind attention,

Yours faithfully,
