Biography:
Rebecca Long (listed as M Long) was also a woman of “firsts”: Her obituary had her listed as the first woman to travel to Shepparton by train, our family birthday book said she was the first white woman to cross the first bridge built over the Goulburn River (not confirmed) and she was the first person to grow a pineapple in Shepparton. (I think that last one made the local paper!)

This woman signed the 1891 Women's Suffrage Petition You can see the entire petition on the Parliament of Victoria Website.
