Biography:
Margaret Salmon Smibert was born about 1835 and died in 1925. Her parents were James Caldwell & Margaret Morrison. She married James Smibert in 1861 VIC. James was Deputy-Postmaster General. They had 11 children. They lived in Hall Street, Spotswood (Newport). Later they lived in New Street, Elsternwick in 1909. James died in 1912 & Margaret and her family moved to "Laloma", Cochrane St, Brighton by 1919. In 1924 she moved to 17 Glendearg Grove, East Malven. She was mother to Mary Morrison Smibert who also signed the petition.
