To edit a page on the PROV wiki click on the 'Edit' tab at the top of the page. You will need to be logged-in to the wiki to do this.

The PROV Wiki gives you a choice of two different toolbars to edit the page.

Toolbar 1

This toolbar (see image below) provides some basic editing functions such as bold, italics, creating internal and external hyperlinks, embedding images and other media into the page, and buttons that allow you to tag content.

  • The large white box under the toolbar is where text is entered..
  • Below the white box is a box to enter a summary of the page.  This is optional but helps people searching the wiki.
  • Below the 'Summary' box are buttons to save your page to the wiki and/or preview how the page is going to look before you save it.

Toolbar 2

This toolbar is accessed by clicking on the heading [Rich Editor] above the toolbar. This opens up a toolbar that works in a similar way to Microsoft Word or another word processing program.

  • Two rows of buttons appear on the toolbar.  These buttons allow you to format text, create links to other pages, add images and other tasks.
  • Once again the large white box in the middle of the screen is where text is entered..
  • Below the white box is a box to enter a summary of the page.  This is optional but helps people searching the wiki.
  • Below the 'Summary' box are buttons to save your page to the wiki and/or preview how the page is going to look before you save it.

IMPORTANT! If you are editing a page which has been tagged DO NOT use the [Rich Editor] toolbar. It is currently deleting all tags.

Using the editor

  • To learn what each button does, hover your mouse over it. A short description of the button will appear
  • The first row of buttons includes functions to cut, copy and paste text, print the page, undo changes, inssert tables and pictures, and use special functions of the Wiki.
  • The second row of buttons contains functions to create headings, format text and paragraphs, and add links to other pages in the wiki.
