| Emily Mary Page Stone was the cousin of Emma Constance Stone and Grace Clara Stone. Her early education took place overseas and she qualified firstly as a teacher like her cousin Constance. On returning to Melbourne, she also gained entry to the University of Melbourne and began her medical studies in 1889.
Upon graduation, she also became part of the Victorian Women's Medical Association as well as becoming part of the National Council of Women. Mary worked at the Queen Victoria Hospital as well as in general practice.
Mary was a signatory to the Women's Suffrage Petition in 1891.
Mary met with an untimely end when struck by a cart whilst riding her bicycle in 1910.
