Biddy Dogherty was one of the Irish Famine Orphans on the Lady Kennaway. She had been a Child's Maid prior to leaving her native place of County Sligo, Ireland; she was Roman Catholic; possessed a Bible and a Testament and could neither read nor write. No entry regarding whether her parents were still alive or not. (Nominal Passenger List - VPRS 14/P0000/0004)

Biddy left the Immigration Depot on 10th February 1849. She was engaged as an Apprentice by Robert Gallagher of Melbourne for 2 years at £6 per annum. (VPRS 14/P0000/0006)
